Module 2 – Be Organized
Objective: To learn how to organize your time, binder and computer.
INTRODUCTION
The key to being successful in school, whether you're in high school or in college, is being organized. I have found that organization is essential to academic success. The following assignments will help you.
INSTRUCTION
For this series of lessons, you’ll want to prepare yourself with the materials and skills needed to keep track of your schoolwork. It can be rough if you don't stay organized. Most of the instructions below will just take you a few minutes to complete. Feel free to ask other students or a teacher if you don't know how do find some of these items.
- Has a binder with dividers and blank binder paper.
- Has a printed calendar showing when course work will be completed each day.
- Has a written “to do” list with dates showing work “to do” and completed each day that is kept in the front part of the binder.
- Knows how to open three tabs in a web browser. (One for email, one for Moodle and one for assignments)
- Logs into Moodle each day before noon and clicks into each class and writes down assignments on the “to do” list.

- Has a written list of other students and adults who can help me when I have questions (put this list in your binder!).
- Knows where to find my current grade in the course.
- Has created a Quia account and completed the “training” survey.
Quia is an online system that allows teachers to create games, quizzes and surveys. The first time you log in, you'll need to create an account. Follow the directions below or attached to complete this competency and then complete the "Training Survey" in Quia. Follow these directions to get registered in Quia.
Your instructor requests that you enroll in the following class: Class: COS.OrgWorkshop Class Code: PRDHB339

If you do not have an account, click the link Create my free account. Fill out the form that appears. Select "Student" as the account type. When you are done, press the Create my account button.
- Step 3. You should now be in the Student Zone. Type in the class code PRDHB339 in the text field and press the Add class button. Now you're done!
Now that you have registered for your instructor's course, you can view your class web page, take quizzes, view your quiz results, view time spent on Quia activities, and read your instructor's feedback from your Quia account.
Follow these steps to view your results:
- Step 1. Log in to your account. (Remember, go to the Quia Web home page at http://www.quia.com/web and click the area labeled Students.)
