Communicate, communicate, communicate  with your instructor.  

 

OBJECTIVE:  To learn the importance of communicating with the teacher in an online course.

 

INSTRUCTION

 

Communicating:  Students communicate with teachers in four ways. 

a.       by electronically completing assignments;

b.      by posting on the discussion forum

c.       by emailing or texting

d.      by phone. 

Students must take the responsibility to contact the teacher when something in the course is not understood.

 

 

Contacting Your Teacher:  You can contact your teacher by phone, text, IM or email at any time.   Be sure and write down your teacher’s email address and cell phone number.  Teachers will do their best to respond to any question within 24 hours during weekdays.  (Check the "Information Station" of this course to see who your teacher is for this course).

 

 

Student Responsibilities

Teacher Responsibilities

·         Log on to the online courses each day.

·        Complete at least 1 assignment for each course each week.

·        Stay on pace (make sure you follow your teacher’s pacing guide)

  • Return phone calls or emails within 24 hours during week days.
  • Grade assignments in a timely way
  • Communicate with students and parents via email, phone, online or IM on a daily basis or as needed.

 

 

  • Contact your teacher for: understanding how to do an assignment, clarify your understanding, or some content in the course.
  • Contact the online school office for technical/computer/Moodle problems.

  • Complete this assignment in Moodle by typing in the day and time you sent this email.
